Punching of a Steel Hold Down Bracket

An electronics producer required a battery hold down bracket for their product design. It required fabrication to ASTM and MIL production standards using CQ cold rolled steel. The bracket's dimensions measured 10.3" x 6.5" x 5.1" in width, 5.1" with tolerances as tight as + .005".
The bracket's design allowed us to use several different in-house fabrication and assembly technologies, with additional value added services provided by one of our partners. Each bracket was punched, laser cut, and then formed using our press brake and punch press. The bracket components were assembled in-house and inspected using CMM and height gage, then manually confirmed with calipers and micrometers. All parts were then e-coated using electrodeposition methods by our project partner.
